The Lord’s message echoed out from the Thessalonians with a thunderous trumpeting sound (v. 8). Our lives too should ring out with a 3-fold tune:

• The sound of turning...
  ...away from idols (v. 9)
  ...towards God’s Word (2:13)
  
  
• The sound of serving...
  ...the living and true God (v.9)
  ...with a pure and holy life (4:1-8)
  
  
• The sound of waiting...
  ...for Jesus from heaven (v.10)
  ...with hope and encouragement (4:13-18)
