Trust Like a Child
In his book Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, William Bridges states that all transitions are composed of (1) an ending (2) a neutral zone (3) a new beginning.
While Bridge's observation may be technically correct, I am not a fan of the term "neutral zone." It brings to my mind a picture of a passive, unproductive period of time.
This is certainly not the case. Between every ending and every new beginning there is a time for us to actively demonstrate our passionate trust in God. It is through this time of trusting that we rediscover God's purposes anew and we are renewed for what lies ahead.
Over the next several weeks we will be examining our passion and our purpose through a series of messages from outstanding preachers on the theme: Trusting God in Times of Change. During this time we will probe the depth of our faith and reignite our passion, not just for the things of God, but for God Himself. We will realign our priorities with the eternal purposes of God and together we will enjoy the pure delight of doing His will.
This second stage of our transition time will not be passive or unproductive. Our faith will grow. Our future will become clear. Our God will bless!
