No Mission Impossible!
Sometimes we get used to the ordinary. So much so it takes the extraordinary to grab our attention.
This past week our family was privileged to host children from the African Children’s Choir. These young children from Uganda have grown up facing poverty, disease, hurt and loneliness. And yet when they came to us, they filled our home with laughter, joy and hope. It was evident to us that God was doing extraordinary things in their lives — and that grabbed our attention!
And it made me pause and think.
Sometimes we get used to being ordinary and doing things the same ordinary way. But God wants to do something special with our lives. He wants to work in and through us in extraordinary ways to grab hold of the attention of others. God wants to cleanse our souls from sin and purify our lifestyles so we can be lights of goodness in a dark and evil world. He wants to teach us His ways so we can be pillars of truth in a culture that is crumbling with lies. He wants to fill us with love so we can be a refreshing drink of water to those living in the desert of loneliness and despair.
Yes, God has more in store for us than just the ordinary. Are we ready for something out of the ordinary?
