What We Believe

The Worthington Christian Church believes that the Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the infallible word of God. It is completely dependable as it directs life for the Christian and church; and it has workable, universal truths for all people.

With this as its premise, on September 7, 1975 the Worthington Christian Church opened its doors for the first time with a Bible School program, bulletins, greeters, a communion table-pulpit, piano, choir, hymnals, nursery and a Bible-based sermon. A total of 105 people attended that opening worship service.

Today, the Worthington Christian Church has grown to a congregation of over 1500 members. It offers three Sunday worship services, Sunday School programs that consist of twelve different adult classes, fifteen different children's classes, an active Small Groups Fellowship, a Mid-week program that allows families and friends to share in study and good Christian fellowship, and a Missions program that stretches the church's influence around the world.

In the church's continuing commitment to grow as a God-honoring family, in Christ, it embarked upon a strategic planning endeavor in November of 1998, that has lead the church to a new mission, and the development of eighteen specific programs designed to move towards a collective vision of God's will for our church.
