Becoming a Member of Worthington Christian Church
What am I to do if I would like to become a member of Worthington Christian Church?
Several people ask this important question each week; and we are glad.
Most important to us is each person’s acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ. That means that I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10, Acts 16:31). I confess with my mouth that He is Lord (Romans 10:9-10). I repent from sin, and turn to follow Him (Acts 2:38, II Peter 3:9). And I submit in faith to Christian baptism (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-4), immersion, burial and resurrection.
If you are a confessing, repentant, baptized believer in Christ, and want to be a member of this family of Christ-followers, we invite to come forward at the invitation time at the close of the worship service, join us in a statement of faith in Christ together, and be welcomed as a part of this church fellowship.
If you are a believer in Christ and have repented toward Him in your heart, but have yet to make your confession public and to act out your faith in Christian baptism, we invite to come forward at invitation time, express your faith and be baptized at the close of the service or arrange for a time that it can be meaningfully done with a smaller group of witnesses who will share with you in your time of commitment. And you will be welcomed as a member of this church family.
And together we will be a "Christ-centered community."
