Adult Bible Fellowship (Sunday School)

Library

• Maintain the orderliness of the library and keep it stocked with current material

Men's Ministry

• Organize prayer and fellowship breakfasts and retreats; publicize activities shared with other churches
• Plan studies/events for spiritual development of men and boys

Small Groups

• Train leaders and recommend materials
• Oversee home groups designed for Bible study, prayer, personal support and outreach

Women's Ministry

• Nurture the spiritual development of women and girls
• Plan, organize and support special events, retreats, Bible studies and interest groups

Children and Youth

Bible Bowl

• Coach the Bible quiz teams, which promote spiritual growth and knowledge of God's word in young people

Children's Ministry

• Oversee, recruit, facilitate and encourage a staff for Sunday and mid-week classes for children from Nursery age through grade six
• Provide Vacation Bible School and other seasonal special events
• Provide care for children with special needs

Teen Ministries

• Oversee, train, select and develop the Junior and Senior High School classes, fellowships, teachers and coaches
• Provide support and assistance for special events, retreats, mission trips and service projects

Vacation Bible School

• One of WCC's most unique events each year. Utilizing over 200 volunteers to serve over 600 children. Leading them for a week through God's word.

Fellowship

• Plan and oversee the special events for the church family such as picnic, pitch-ins, Christmas events, etc.
• Offer quarterly new-member fellowships

Eat to Meet

• Coordinate groups of people to gather for fellowship over meals

Sports

• Develop and select leaders for athletic teams; plan and supervise recreation activities

Singles

• Organize special fellowship events for single adults

Young at Heart

• Plan and oversee programs, service projects, study and fellowship groups, trips and other activities for senior adults

Building

Baptismal Assistance

• Accompany and assist those preparing to be baptized
• Supply and care for the baptismal garments
• Assure that the baptistery and preparation areas are well maintained and ready for use

Communion Clean-Up

• Assist in the clean-up of the communion trays after worship and special communion events

Communion Preparation

• Prepare trays for Sunday services and special events

Decoration

• Select, purchase & maintain items for the permanent and seasonal decoration of the Worship Center, Family Life Center and other common areas within the church

Finance

• Prepare and monitor the annual church budget; appoint and oversee offering counting teams

Memorial

• Responsible for the placement of memorial bricks in the atrium

Property Management
            Building    Grounds    Landscape

• Manage necessary large building repairs or improvements; work with Building Services Manager to maintain quality of building
• Develop a team to mow and trim yard, clear walkways and parking lots of snow and ice
• Develop a team to care for and maintain landscaping

Safety

• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes
• Compliance with insurance regulation; risk reduction

Security

• Responsible for providing security during worship services and special events
• Responsible for building security

Technology

• Oversee software, hardware and network; provide first line of response for technology issues

Transportation

• Provide lists of qualified drivers
• Provide transportation to and from Worthington Christian Village

Food Services

• Oversee purchasing supplies for the kitchen
• Oversee kitchen maintenance

Website

• Design, develop, maintain Worthington Christian Church website

Willing Workers

• Monthly building special care

Outreach

Community Care

• Support for the Pregnancy Decision Health Centers, Habitat for Humanity, Angel Tree, Organ Donation, and various food and clothing drives

Evangelism

• Training programs for personal evangelism and developing new outreach strategies

Home Communion Ministry

• Provide communion (at home) to those unable to attend services

Missions

• Develop annual mission budget and publicize the needs and activities of our mission partners
• Entertain or host missions guests; lead annual missions emphasis

Nursing Home Ministry

• Provide monthly devotional time on the third Sunday of the month

Support

Career Transition Ministry

• Provide support, encouragement, resources and fellowship for people in career transition

Funeral Meal Ministry

• Plan and supervise funeral meals as requested

Grief Ministry

• Follow-up contact with church member who is grieving; phone calls, personal visits and comforting material given

Health & Wellness

• Plan and develop classes and events for health education; set up network and non-professional care among those within the congregation who share the same health needs

Prison Ministry

• Support the Horizon Ministry at the Marion Correctional Institution
• Support Debbie Roeger, Opening Doors

Welcome

Greeters

• Build a team of friendly and helpful people who greet at the church doors on Sunday mornings and for special events

• Select, recruit, schedule and help train those who receive the offerings
• Serve the emblems of communion on Sunday morning and at special functions

Sunday Phone Answerers

• Recruit a team to man the receptionist desk and answer telephone calls during Sunday morning services

Ushers

• Select, oversee and train a corps of ushers for Sunday mornings and special WCC events

Welcome Center

• Staff and train people to work in the Welcome Center; maintain central point available for information and direction to newcomers or others needing help
• Responsible for keeping a supply of helpful materials

Worship

Drama

• Prepare and present brief Sunday morning dramas that support the day's theme and message
• Support Children's Ministry with dramatic lessons

Music & Worship

• Involve others in the development and leadership of music for Sunday mornings or other worship services
• Development of vocal and instrumental ensembles and choirs
• Provide operators and maintenance for the sound equipment and special lighting systems

Parking Lot Assistance

• Provide outdoor welcome to Sunday services; offer assistance on days when it rains or snows
• Give parking directions when necessary

Prayer

• Coordinate special prayer events
• Oversee prayer tree ministry

Multimedia

• Responsible for running the sound board for worship services and special events
• Computer graphics for Worship Center
